Unrivaled design and performance:
The new generation of 4-axis TS2 robots has redefined the design, performance, and connectivity of SCARA robots.
Stäubli’s TS2 SCARA series robots boast a fully enclosed structure, making it possible to leverage their fast and precise kinematics in the most sensitive, clean, and hygienic environments. The TS2 robot range is IP65-rated thanks to a sealed housing that protects electrical and pneumatic connections and bellows that protect the quill. An ESD version for electronics applications is now also available, with other versions for sensitive environments coming soon.
The new TS2 SCARA series share the same structural segments as the 6-axis TX2 robots, offering an identical footprint for high modularity and optimized development times. Its wide range of motion (+/- 180°on axis 1) gives it a unique cylindrical work envelope. The JCS drive technology, designed by Stäubli, enables to achieve ultra-short cycle times. The use of 19-bit digital absolute multi-turn encoders delivers great repeatability.
Pneumatic and electrical circuits are housed inside the arm and a Cat5e Ethernet connection is integrated up to the tool flange. Coupled with the open architecture of the CS9 controller, TS2 robots deliver a level of connectivity tailored to the Smart Production.
The robot series features smart control of grippers and embedded cameras and, for the first time ever, an ultra-compact integrated tool changer (optional) allows automatic connection/disconnection of various tools for instant production changeover. The time savings and increased flexibility ensure a rapid return on investment.
In addition to our standard series, an ESD version is currently available for use in electronics. Other versions are coming: Harsh-conditions version for the metal and automotive industries, an HE version with hygienic design for the food industry and cleaning applications, and an SCR version for cleanrooms.
Stéphane Martin, Project Manager, TS2 - R&DTo meet fast growing demand in the electronics market, Stäubli has released four ESD models of its 4-axis TS2 robot range. This series is designed to prevent electrostatic discharge during handling of electronic components.
ESD compliance is assured by three specific tests:
Each arm component in our TS2 ESD is grounded and the robot is finished with special ESD-compliant paint. The TS2 ESD series meets all required criteria to prevent electrostatic discharge during operations such as PCB assembly, vision inspection, and electronic product testing and packaging.
